Aetna is a national company
with over 150 years of experience. They offer a wide range of plans. In addition
they have a discounted vision care program called "Vision One," that is automatically
included in every health plan. They have an expanded physician network, one
of the largest hospital networks in Greater New York and an ID card that is
recognized across the country. There are many plans to choose from with many
options available to meet the needs of many different kinds of companies.
In February 2002, Aetna's entire Northeast region, which includes plans operating
in Connecticut, New York, northern New Jersey and Maine, has earned an "excellent"
rating from the NCQA.
Atlantis Health Plan
is a new plan available to the NY Metropolitan area including the Boroughs
of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx and Staten Island. Atlantis is the plan
where the "Doctors make the difference" because Atlantis is solely
owned and governed by private practice doctors. Their goal is to provide cost-effective
health care and they offer POS and HMO plans with a choice of copayments and
plans which gives the consumer a wide range of health care and medical services
including preventive care.
Cigna
is a leading provider of healthcare, insurance and financial services throughout
the United States and around the world. Cigna HealthCare is one of the nations
largest health care organizations. Cigna is delivering quality care and is
determined to do it in a friendly, uncomplicated way to the member as well
as the broker community. By offering such benefits as discounted alternative
medicine and laser vision correction, Cigna has the best interest of it's
members at heart. Cigna offers a large selection of medical plans with an
array of copayment options. Dental plans are also available.
GHI Effective November 2006,
GHI and HIP are now formally affiliated companies operating under a common
parent, EmblemHealth, serving over four million members across the tri-state
area. Under the affiliation, as sister companies, GHI and HIP both continue
without disruption or change to their current operations.
Existing group coverage will not be changed as a result of the affiliation.
Over time, the combined entity will develop and make available an expanded
range of cost effective products and new services to customers. Affiliation
is the first step as GHI and HIP begin the process of combining and integrating
as they move toward an eventual merger. GHI has the solutions for any company's
healthcare needs with competitive rates and quality coverage at an affordable

and growing in its national reputation, HIP Health Plan of New York offers
an expanding range of health care choices as well as a growing provider network.
Now number over 21,000 providers in nearly 32,000 service locations, HIP's
health care options include physicians independent practice as well as physicians
practicing in health care centers. The centers are managed by outstanding
groups of multispecialty physicians, as well as groups associated with leading
hospitals, such as Beth Israel Medical Center, St. Luke's and Roosevelt Hospitals;
Lenox Hill Hospital; St. Barnabas Hospital and Montefiore Medical Center.
In addition, with the acquisition of Vytra HealthPlans and it's 200,000 members,
HIP is the largest HMO and one of the largest health plans in the NY Metropolitan
area. It is also the largest Medicare and Medicaid HMO in New York State,
according to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. HIP is the first
health plan in the nation to offer a Web site (hipusa.com) in English, Spanish,
Chinese and Korean
The
LIA Health Alliance is a small business health insurance purchasing cooperative
designed to increase competition, decrease health insurance rates and expand
choices. The advantage to the LIA Health Alliance is that employees in one
group can have the option of choosing from different health insurance carriers
(Atlantis Health Plan, GHI, HIP Health Plan of New York and Perfect Health)
as well as different benefit plans. The choice you make within your company
is based on the network and your budget. With the combination of carriers,
it is the most extensive list of physicians and hospitals on Long Island.

Oxford Healthplans is pleased
to announce that the merger between UnitedHealthcare and Oxford Health Plans
has been formally completed, uniting two highly complementary organizations
focused on creating more choice and access in our markets. UnitedHealthcare's
tri-state operations will be combined with those of Oxford Health Plans under
the leadership of Chuck Berg. Oxford Health Plans offers consumers access
to a broad network of quality health care physicians and providers in the
tri-state region. The combination strengthens the offerings and capabilities
available to customers of both companies, enabling greater flexibility, choice,
and access to the health care system. The blending of these two companies
will give many advantages.
PerfectHealth
- PH is a wholly owned subsidiary of HIP as of 1/1/06. PerfectHealth provides
employers and
employees with the tools and resources they need to make the best possible
healthcare choices for themselves and their dependents. By joining high deductible
plans with tax deductible Health savings Accounts planholders can save premium
dollars and stop paying out of pocket expenses with after tax dollars.
UnitedHealthcare
provides a full spectrum of consumer-oriented health benefit plans and services.
The company organizes access to quality, affordable health care services on
